EDU Lawn Care is not just your average lawn care service. They do provide lawn care and soft landscaping services to the citizens of the Northland area but more importantly it's a tool for students in our community to use to help get them through college with little to no debt. EDU Lawn is compromised of student employees. On employment, the students are set up with a 529b tuition fund in which ten percent of their check get put into. Once the students complete college EDU Lawn will then match what they have saved up in order to help the students come out with little to no debt. The students also learn about the different aspects of business, this includes networking, financing, marketing, and operations. This company is a 501c3 and there is no other business model like this in the country.
My daily responsibilities include building my own professional presence on social media as well as working on any projects that we had to do. I would build my presence online by tweeting out three times a day and sharing articles with people on Twitter but I also have recently started to expand on to Instagram. Some of the projects I've worked on during this time would be working on Service Auto Pilot and our social media competitive analysis. Service Auto Pilot is like a CRM for lawn care services and I had to learn how to work the invoices, input jobs, and assign employees. Our Competitive Analysis had a list of questions to gauge how well other lawn care services are using social media and if they are using social media well, we pick and pull what's working for them and incorporate it into our social media plan.
